Veekee James was born Victoria James on June 9, 1996, in Ajegunle, Lagos State. She is originally from Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. She grew up in  with her two brothers, father and mother. Her mother was a tailor. She went to the University of Uyo for a degree in Biochemistry but reportedly dropped out to focus on her fashion business.

Career

She developed passion for fashion designing at a very tender age and learned how to sew with inspiration from her mother. She knitted and sold wears in her local community.

She worked as a hairdresser, and makeup artist before she delved into the fashion world. She founded the brand Veekee James in 2018.

Ever since she came to the limelight, she has been able craft custom dresses that leaves client with a long lasting memories.

She has been able to standout in the fashion industry with her creativity. She is well known for making custom dresses for brides and celebrities for red carpet events.

Veekee James got married to her husband, Femi Atere on February 10, 2024. The wedding was held in Lagos with attendance from celebrities like Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori ‘Kiekie’, Toke Makinwa, Osas Ighodaro, Adeola Diadem, and many others.
